Luxury vinyl plank flooring in Stuart and the Treasure Coast

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) looks like wood but has a waterproof core, so it holds up in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and homes with pets or kids. It is also a common choice for condos and rentals, where owners want a durable floor that can be installed quickly.

We install LVP across Martin County and nearby Port St. Lucie and northern Palm Beach County, including removal of old carpet and tile.

When LVP makes sense

  • Wet areas. Kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms where wood is a risk.
  • Condos. Click-lock LVP with an approved underlayment can meet many association sound requirements.
  • Pets and heavy traffic. Wear layers resist scratches better than most wood finishes.
  • One look through the house. The same plank can run from the living room into the kitchen and bath without a change in material.

If you want a floor that can be sanded and refinished in the future, look at hardwood or engineered wood instead.

What to compare when choosing LVP

  • Wear layer thickness, measured in mils. A thicker wear layer holds up longer in high-traffic areas.
  • Core type. Rigid SPC (stone-plastic) cores are dense and resist dents. WPC cores are softer and warmer underfoot.
  • Attached pad. Some planks have a built-in underlayment; condo installs may need a separate rated pad.
  • Subfloor flatness. Vinyl plank shows dips and humps in the slab, so floor prep matters.

Luxury vinyl plank questions

Is luxury vinyl plank waterproof?

The planks themselves are waterproof. Water can still get under the floor at edges and seams if there is a leak, so it is not a substitute for fixing plumbing problems.

Can LVP go over existing tile?

Sometimes. The tile has to be flat, solid and free of deep grout lines, and the added height has to work with doors and transitions. We check during the estimate.

How much does LVP installation cost?

It depends on the product, square footage, removal of old flooring and floor prep. We give a written quote after measuring.
