How did you hear about us?

Well, one of the first things we wanted to do was to replace everything, our flooring on the stairs, and so I did a Google search, and the important part for us was to find a company that could do both woodwork, retreads, and tile, and I ended up with the best company out there.

How was your experience with us?

From the very beginning, the staff at the office was both very congenial and very knowledgeable, and the communication is very, very important when you take on a big project like this. So, the project from the office to Carlos being the manager and the artisans and craftsmen that he had working for him were paramount.

So now, after two years, what do you have to say about your stairs?

Well, I think the results speak for themselves, and the stairs after two years still look like they’re brand new. And it’s something that’s really, really important, is the fact that every single day, my wife and myself and my friends and family walk up these stairs, and everything sooner or later is at eye level. And so it’s something that you see right in your face every single day, and the fact that it’s still perfect is paramount to the quality of the work that was done.

And you definitely recommend us?

Yes, absolutely.

How did you hear about us?

I was a referral. They referred me. They told me you guys do a good job, and I went over there to your office, and I met some of the people at work. They’re very, very nice.

They went over every single thing, showed me all the cabinets. They showed us granite. They showed us all kinds of things.
It was very good.

Did having all the materials and options available in the showroom make the selection process easier for you?

Oh, much easier. Everything was right there. I mean, when I got there, I thought we were just going to talk about the cabinets and all that. But when I saw you guys had everything ready, it really surprised me, which was very nice.

What was your experience seeing your kitchen design in 3D before the renovation began?

Oh yeah. I mean, when I started walking around and looking at the cabinets and the granite, and all of a sudden I see on the screen, you know, the whole kitchen and everything done, and I go, wow, this is really good.

How does your finished kitchen compare to the original 3D design?

Oh, it’s amazing. Amazing. When you see it in person and you’re finally finished, I mean, it looks, I’m as happy as can be with my kitchen.

The design was realistic?

Oh, it was realistic. Absolutely. Actually, while they were doing things, because they put it in the kitchen, actually when nothing was here, it was right on that wall.

And I was looking through it at everything, and everything was spot on exactly how it was drawn.

The process was smooth?

Very smooth. Very smooth. And everybody was very nice. Anytime I had any questions, anything, they answered right away, which is not like other places that you go and no one answers. It’ll take two or three days till they answer.

What about pricing?

Very good pricing. Very good price. That’s another thing I had. Other people had given me quotes. At the end, I went with you guys because the price was much better and the quality was much better. I mean, even the inside of the cabinets, when you open them, the wood quality, everything’s very, very good.

Did we deliver everything we promised you?

You did. You delivered everything and you actually delivered it all on time, which was fantastic. This project started a year ago, and we had a small window to get the house done during last summer, and we went to your showroom down south, and we looked at your material and gave you the timeline that we needed and the date that our contractor would need all the material in our home ready to go, and you hit the date within two or three days.

What do you have to say about the quality of the cabinets, painting, design?

Well, it was all custom cabinetry, so that was a real challenge. The quality is excellent with any custom work. There were a few adjustments that needed to be made, but the design work at the beginning was very helpful, and we had computer-generated images of what our project would look like when it was done, and it’s very, very close. Frankly, it’s better than what we saw in the images.

How was your experience with your pricing and proposal and if everything was well explained in the beginning?

I would say that we worked with you and figured out what our budget needed to be, and it was well within what we thought custom cabinetry should be, and we actually came in within budget. There were a couple of changes that we needed that were not really change orders, but things that we wanted after we saw some things installed that we wanted to have adjusted, and you took care of it without any problem.

How was your experience with our communication?

Communication was good. There were, you know, on holidays and things that might have been a little delayed, but overall the communication was good. Far better than you find with most vendors. You didn’t forget my name or my number, so that was good.

How was your experience with our team? Professionally, did we exceed your expectations?

You know, like most homeowners, you get to Friday and you’re panicking because you want everything to be clean and ready for the weekend, but it was pretty much to our expectation that it was done. Your team was very quiet when they came in. They did their job, and at the end of the day, they were just gone with all their materials. So, it was good.

We know every project, every construction has pickles that need to be addressed. Doing it, how we perform during those situations?

It was custom cabinetry. So, you know, when you bring things in and they don’t quite fit, you guys adjusted for it. There were a couple of things that we wanted changed, such as our range hood wasn’t exactly how we wanted it. So, you came and addressed that and made us happy. There were things six months later that we found that were installed that didn’t work the way we thought they would. And you guys came back and made the adjustment, changed out the drawers or whatever needed to be done. So, we’re quite happy with it.

Did you ever hire us again?

Yes, absolutely. The experience was very, very good. We probably do have a couple more projects that will be done. And we will certainly look for Face of Wood to give us their best proposal.

I want to tell you about our experience with Face of Wood. We walked into that office the 4th of that day, and we felt so comfortable and chatted for a little while and walked out saying, “That’s our last try. It’s gonna be them.”

When it came down to the work, Gui came out to the house. He started making suggestions that we had not even thought of. It’s a partial renovation, so we had certain stipulations about things we wanted to keep. He was open to all of them.

He had a real can-do attitude in comparison to other people we had talked to. When it came down to doing the work, every one of their subs was personable, worked hard, efficiently, cleaned up after themselves, and it was nothing but a positive experience.

So this is the second project that we’ve done with Face of Wood. Three years ago, when we moved into this home, we had our wood flooring redone, expanded into other rooms. We met Carlos at Face of Wood at the time. They did an excellent job on the flooring. And so when we got around to doing our kitchen renovation, we called him specifically to do the flooring because we didn’t know that he did other things. And it turns out he did all of the cabinet design, built the cabinets, arranged all of the electricity, all of the drywall, everything that needed to be done.

It was a one-stop shop with Face of Wood. So we’re very happy with the results.
